KATHMANDU, July 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Prithviman Gurung and Amik Sherchan as the province chief of Gandaki and Lumbini, respectively, on Tuesday evening.
President Bhandari appointed Gurung and Sherchan as the province chiefs in accordance with the Article 163 (12) of the Constitution on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, the Office of the President said.
A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to relieve Lumbini Province chief Dharmanath Prasad Sah and Gandaki Province chief Sita Devi Poudel of their existing positions. The same Cabinet decided to recommend the President to appoint Gurung and Sherchan as the new province chiefs of Gandaki and Lumbini respectively.
