Press Council: Remain cautious of fake news on elections
The Press Council Nepal has said its serious attention was drawn to the fake news disseminated on social networking sites aimed at influencing the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly.
A fair and free election forms cornerstone of democracy, but when the elections are swayed by rumours, misinformation and fake news, they are unlikely to contribute to democratic nation building.
