Prohibitory orders in Valley extended till July 24, entry of public vehicles eased

KATHMANDU, July 15: Entry of public vehicles into the Kathmandu Valley has been eased to be effective from Friday.  A joint meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of three districts in the Valley decided to this effect.  “We decided to allow the entry of public vehicles which are required to transport the passengers into the Valley,” said Prem Prasad Bhattarai, CDO of Bhaktapur district.  According to Bhattarai, those vehicles are required to produce a recommendation letter issued by their respective districts.  Meanwhile, the meeting also decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory orders by another ten days. With this, the orders will remain in force until July 24.  The orders, which were first put in place on April 29 and extended several times, were due to expire on Thursday midnight.
