KATHMANDU, Dec 27: When the Department of Environment checked 341 public vehicles from December 2 to December 23, 41 percent of the vehicles failed to meet the emission standard. In the capital city, Kathmandu, emissions from vehicles have been a major factor resulting in air pollution.
KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Most of the public vehicles in the Kathmandu Valley have failed the pollution test. On Friday, a team comprising members of the Department of Environment, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division and the Department of Transport Management conducted pollution test of vehicles at Babarmahal in Kathmandu.
Most of the public vehicles plying Kathmandu Valley roads have failed to maintain Vehicle Emission Testing (VET). It was found that most of the vehicles tested failed a pollution test on Friday that was conducted by the Department of Environment, Metropolitan Traffic Police, and Transport Management Department in Babarmahal.
