Nepal's Local Governments Lead Shift Toward Electric Public Transit
Kathmandu. This week, major cities across the country have taken positive steps in the public transport sector. Metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities have introduced public electric vehicles (EVs). In Kathmandu, Sajha Yatayat, in collaboration with Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan Cities, and Chandragiri and Budhanilkantha Municipalities, has launched a night bus service operating from 8 PM to 11 PM. Similarly, Pokhara Metropolitan City has started providing a free shuttle bus service using electric buses from Pokhara Airport to Amarsingh Chowk. Nepal's Public Debt Surges by Over 250 Billion in First Nine Months of Fiscal Year 2082/83
Kathmandu. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, Nepal's public debt has increased by more than 250 billion rupees. According to the report published by the Public Debt Management Office under the Ministry of Finance up to the end of Chaitra, Nepal's total public debt has reached 2.933 trillion 790 million rupees.At the beginning of the fiscal year, i.e., up to Shrawan 1, Nepal's total public debt was 2.674 trillion 40 million rupees.
