Kathmandu. The process to remove unauthorized squatter settlements located on public and government land along the banks of the Bagmati River in Thapathali is set to begin early this morning. Citing negative impacts on the river's natural flow and obstructions to urban infrastructure development, the Kathmandu District Administration Office, under government directive, had set a final deadline of 7 PM last Friday for the structures to be vacated. Police arrest three more individuals over potential obstruction of squatter settlement clearance
Kathmandu. Police have arrested three additional individuals on suspicion of potentially obstructing the clearance of squatter settlements. Those arrested include RN Kunwar, General Secretary of the United National Squatter Front, along with advisors Dalmardan Karmi and Dinesh Sunar.
