The pond is a site of worship for both Hindus and Buddhists, while the Sherpa community reveres it as Ama Chhyumen.Situated at the base of the Phurbi Ghyachu pass at an altitude of 6,567 meters, the pond itself lies at an elevation of 4,124 meters. According to Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality Chairman Pasang Norbu Sherpa, the lake spans approximately 84,193 square meters, though its depth remains unmeasured.
