Cadres of some small communist parties staged a demonstration outside the House of Representatives in New Baneshwor today against the possible endorsement of Millennium Challenge Corporation agreement backed by the United States.
KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Senior leader of Nepali Congress(NC) Ramchandra Poudel has said the ratification of MCC grant agreement through parliament is in the larger interest of the country. He accused the communist parties of shying away from the agreement made for the MCC grant.
While the issue of Millennium Challenge Compact, an agreement backed by the United States, has been stirring national politics in recent days, eight fringe parties, particularly those with communist ideology, staged protests against it in the capital yet again today.
