Independent candidate Hamal leading mayoral race by 11,000 votes in Dhangadhi sub-metropolis
DHANGADHI, May 21: Independent candidate Gopal Hamal is leading the mayoral race in Dhangadhi sub-metropolis of Sudurpaschim Province by a margin of almost 11,000 votes in the ongoing vote counting.
DHANGADI, May 22: Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has been elected the mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis. He won with 26,865 votes while his closest rival, the common candidate of ruling alliance, Nrip Bahadur Oda of the Nepali Congress, received 14,817 votes.
KATHMANDU, May 22: Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has been elected to the post of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City of Kailali district.
Hamal had garnered 26,443 votes while his nearest contender Nrip Bahadur Bad of Nepali Congress collected 14,146 votes.
Hamal was backed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Bibeksheel Sajha Party. Likewise, Bada was backed by CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist).

KATHMANDU, May 14: Independent candidate for the post of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Gopal Hamal is currently leading the vote count.
Of 153 votes counted so far, Hamal has garnered 77 votes. His nearest contender was Nipra Bahadur Bada of Nepali Congress, who collected 35 votes.
Likewise, the UML candidate for the post has garnered only five votes so far.
Likewise, Shanti Adhikari of CPN (Maoist Center) representing the ruling alliance garnered 48 votes followed by an independent candidate with 31 votes.
KATHMANDU: Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has taken the lead in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City. In the preliminary result of 100 votes counted so far, Hamal got 55 votes. Similarly, Nripa Bahadur Wad of Nepali Congress got 22 votes and Ran Bahadur Chand of CPN-UML got 2 votes.
