KATHMANDU, May 6: Winning the toss, Zimbabwe ‘A’ has opted to bat first in the first match, being played against Nepal, of the One Day International (ODI) 'Practise' Series on Friday. The match is being played at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in the capital. Earlier, these two countries also faced off in a T20 series. Of the three matches played, both the Nepal and  Zimbabwe ‘A’ had won one match each while one was postponed due to bad weather conditions. KATHMANDU, April 4: Nepal is facing Papua New Guinea (PNG) for the title of the tri-t20 series on Monday. The match is being held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground. PNG, winning the toss, opted to bowl first.  Nepal, which remained undefeated throughout the series, is looking forward to clinching victory. It is the first such series that Nepal played under the captaincy of Sandip Lamichhane. PNG has already been defeated twice by Nepal in the match played earlier between the two countries.  Nepal in today's final match has made one change in its squad. Sompal Kami has replaced Kamal Singh Airee. Winning the toss, Malaysia chose to bat first and invited Nepal to bowl. Dilip Nath debuted in the match representing Nepal on Wednesday. Nepal vs Oman: Nepal sets target of 197 runs

Aasif Sheikh hits 90 runs  KATHMANDU: Nepal has set a target of 197 runs for Oman in the ongoing match under ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.  After winning the toss, Nepali skipper Gyanednra Malla opted to bat first.  Nepali side lost all its wickets for 196 runs in the 48th over. Except for opener Aasif Sheikh, no other could bat efficiently against the home side. Sheikh scored 90 runs off 112 balls before he was bowled out by Bilal Khan. Khan took four wickets to help his team restrict the visiting team to under 200 runs. He claimed the wickets of opener Kushal Bhurtel (0), Kushal Malla (4) and Bikram Sob (2).  Skipper Malla and pacer Karan KC scored 21 runs each and Rohit Paudel, who scored a half century against the USA on Monday, added only 20 runs on Tuesday. While spinner Sandeep Lamichhane contributed 16 runs, wicket keeper Binod Bhandari lost his wicket for just 6 runs.  Oman’s Nestor Dhamba sent two Nepali batsmen to pavilion and Zeeshan Maqsood and Mohammad Nadeem took a wicket each.

KATHMANDU: Nepal has beaten Papua New Guinea (PNG) by two wickets with 63 balls remaining to bowl in the first one-day international match played at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman on Monday. Nepal chased the target of 135 runs after restricting Papua New Guinea to 134 runs in the 33rd over.  Nepal’s Rohit Paudel scored 41 runs off the 65 runs while Aasif Sheikh added 30 and Sompal Kami 22 to the Nepali’s scoreboard to lead the team to victory in the 40th over.  Captain Gyanendra Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Sharad Veswakar and Kushal Malla could not reach the double-digit mark while Pawan Sarraf and Bikram Sob couldn’t open their account either.  After winning the toss, PNG opted to bat first and invited Nepal to bowl. Nepal’s debutant bowler Bikram Sob claimed two wickets. Similarly, Kushal Malla sent two PNG players to the pavilion while Sompal Kami took a wicket. Thanks to four wicket-haul by leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane.
