Kathmandu, June 24: Teams of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal have been kept on standby along with necessary means and resources in all provinces for this year's monsoon response.
According to the APF Nepal, monsoon response teams have been mobilized in respective places in order to rescue victims of flood, landslide, inundation and disaster during monsoon.

In Nepal, monsoon season is characterised by natural disasters each year. Landslides obstruct highways while floods ravage houses and lands as rain falls torrentially throughout the nation. Monsoon is thus synonymous with natural disasters that test the mettle of the government yearly even though there are mitigation measures in place. It thus questions the current strategies of Nepal government in tackling monsoon-led disasters.
On Tuesday night, flash floods in Melamchi and Yangri rivers damaged three dozen houses by the rivers, washed away bridges and affected more than 100 houses. Other concrete houses are filled with mud brought by the rivers. But, even now, the speed of water has not slowed down. It is still cutting away the riversides.
