MC’s Renu Dahal elected mayor, NC’s Chitrasen elected deputy mayor of Bhadrapur metropolis

KATHMANDU, May 23: Renu Dahal of CPN (Maoist Center) and Chitrasen Adhikari of Nepali Congress (NC) have been elected mayor and deputy mayor of Bhadrapur Metropolitan City. Renu Dahal secured 52,030 votes while her nearest contender Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML collected 39,581 votes. Likewise, Adhikari garnered 52,803 votes while his nearest contender Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) collected 22,192 votes. Similarly, a rebel mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress, Jagannath Poudel got 14,728 votes.

Renu Dahal maintains lead of over 8,000 votes

KATHMANDU, May 22: As only 32,000 votes remain to be counted, Renu Dahal, mayoral candidate of CPN (Maoist Center), has maintained a lead of more than 8,000 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. Of 127,566 votes casted in the metropolis, as many as 95,311 votes have already been counted as of Sunday afternoon. So far, Renu Dahal has secured 37,468 votes maintaining a lead of 8,154 votes over her nearest contender. Meanwhile, Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML has secured second position garnering 29,314 votes. Likewise, Jagannath Poudel, a rebel candidate of Nepali Congress has collected 12,359 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 17: The mayoral candidate of CPN (Maoist Center) backed by the ruling alliance is currently leading the vote count in Bharatpur metropolis with 273 votes as of 5 PM, Tuesday. So far, Renu Dahal has garnered 6,870 votes while his nearest contender Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML has got 6,597 votes.
