Health worker manhandled at Hetauda Hospital

MAKAWANPUR, September 16: A health worker has been manhandled at Hetauda Hospital on Wednesday night. The relatives of the patient manhandled the health worker at the hospital, run Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences. According to the Hospital, the health worker—Samriddhi Shrestha, 20, sustained injury when some people attacked her. A patient injured in a road accident was brought to the hospital for treatment. The relatives of the patient thrown a metal chair at the health workers, citing there was no stretcher to take the injured at emergency. The irate relatives of the patient had taken him at Churehill Hospital at Hetauda-11 after the incident.   The hospital protested the attack upon the health workers and informed about the incident asking to take necessary action against those involved in the incident, said Chairperson of the Hospital Development and Management Committee, Rajesh Prasain.

Tila declared a full vaccination assured rural municipality

KHALANGA, July 15: Jumla’s Tila rural municipality has been declared a full vaccination assured local level. Rural municipality chair Ratannath Yogi shared that the declaration was made when children of all nine wards of the rural municipality were fully assured of vaccination access.   He said, “We were successful in declaring the rural municipality a fully-vaccinated zone.  It was only possible with the untiring efforts of health workers, women health volunteers and people’s representatives of Tila. The rural municipality has made a crucial achievement. As education and health are the fundamental rights of the children, vaccination needs to be given continuity. No children will be deprived of access to vaccination in Tila”  The Tila rural municipality has laid emphasis on health sector, Yogi added. They have provide doorstep health check-up services o senior citizens and children.  There are only five health posts within the rural municipality. Earlier, children were deprived of vaccination services when mothers had to spend most of their time in household chores.  Vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, Bishnu Budha said the establishment of four additional primary health centers and three health units in Tila has made it easier to bring all children within the reach of the vaccination service.

Ilam Society UK supports medical materials to home district

ILAM, June 3: The Ilam Society UK has aided medical materials worth amounting to Rs 1.4 million to the home district. Society chair Labung Rai informed that two oxygen concentrators and 10 oximeters each were provided to four municipalities and ix rural municipalities of the district.  The Society would be sending 20 sets of oxygen concentrators and 100 pieces of oximeters in coordination with the London-based Nepali Embassy, chair Rai further shared.  Mayor of Suryodaya municipality Rana Bahadur Rai has been entrusted with the responsibility for bringing the health support materials from federal capital Kathmandu to Ilam and distributing them.  The Society has been providing financial and material support to the disaster survivors and under-represented communities of the district.

KMC forms 7-member committee for running Covid-19 Special Hospital

KATHMANDU, May 4: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has formed a 7-member Committee to submit proposal to build a well-equipped hospital with isolation facility to control Covid-19 in Kathmandu district. The Committee chaired by KMC ward no 3 chairperson Deepak KC include ward no 6 chair Dipendra Lama, ward no 7 chair Sudda Kumar Dangol, ward no 22 chair Chinikaji Maharjan, ward no 30 chair Dal Bahadur Karki and ward no 31’s chair Narayan Bhandari.  The 61st meeting of the executives held on last Monday had dwelt on ways and means to contain the spread of Covid-19. The meeting concluded that establishment of a well-equipped Covid-19 Treatment Facilities was one of the effective ways to stem the the second wave of Covid-19. The Committee will deliberate on the modality in which isolation facilities will be run, the modality in which the Covid-19 suspected and infected ones will be treated. Furthermore, it will furnish proposal to the KMC so as to build Covid-19 treatment facilities.  The meeting had also decided to rope in health exeprts Dr Ganesh Gurung, Dr Arjun Karki, Dr Anup Subedi and Dr Sharad Onta to join the KMC’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Karnali Province assigns local levels for management of infected ones

KARNALI, April 20: The Social Development Ministry of Karnail Province has decided to entrust the concerned local levels for the management of coronavirus patients. A meeting of provincial health emergency directive committee held today under the chair of Social Development Minister Bimala KC decided to give responsibility to the local levels for the management of the infected ones remaining in the border areas.   Director of Province Public Health Service Directorate Dr Rabin Khadka said that the local levels should treat and manage the infected ones by taking them to the concerned levels.   Likewise, the meeting has directed all the corona dedicated hospitals and other hospitals to remain standby for the treatment of coronavirus patients in the province.  Similarly, the health workers deployed for the control and treatment of coronavirus would be provided with the allowance. On the occasion, Minister KC said that the Karnail Government was working relentlessly to safeguard the health right of the citizens.
