Sunita Dangol garners thrice as many votes as her nearest contender in KMC

KATHMANDU, May 15: Sunita Dangol, CPN-UML’s candidate for the post of deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has garnered twice as many votes as her nearest contender as of 4 PM Sunday. Dangol is currently leading the vote count in KMC for the post of deputy mayor with 2,884 votes. Her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist)candidate, has collected only 823 votes despite being backed by the ruling alliance.

KMC allocates a budget of Rs 25.41 billion

KATHMANDU, June 24: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has allocated a budget of Rs 25.41 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23. Deputy mayor of the metropolis, Sunita Dangol presented the budget on Friday. Of the total allocated amount, Rs 502,124,000 has been allocated for programs related to economic development. Likewise, the metropolis has allocated 49.57 percent of the total budget for infrastructure development among others.

Newly elected mayor, deputy mayor of KMC assume office

KATHMANDU, May 30: Balen Shah who was recently elected to the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) took an oath of office and secrecy and assumed his office on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Raju Kathiwada administered an oath of office and secretary to Shah amid an event at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu. Similarly, newly elected deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, ward chairpersons and other members were also sworn in on the same day.
