KMC Mayor Race: Balen Shah’s vote surpasses 50,000-mark

KATHMANDU, May 24: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate has garnered as many as 50,339 votes as of 3 PM this afternoon.  Shah has been continuously leading the vote count in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) from the day one of the vote count. Shah’s nearest contender Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress (NC) has collected 30,954 votes while Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has got 30,336 votes. Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of CPN-UML, has collected 54,091 votes while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) has got 18,655 votes.

KMC Mayor Race: Balen Shah garners almost 50,000 votes

KATHMANDU, May 24: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate has garnered as many as 49,358 votes as of 8 AM this morning.  Shah has been continuously leading the vote count in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) from the day one of the vote count. Shah’s nearest contender Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress (NC) has collected 30,069 votes while Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has got 29,284 votes. Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of CPN-UML, has collected 52,809 votes while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) has got 17,884 votes.

Update KMC Mayor Race: Balen Shah maintains his lead in the vote count

KATHMANDU, May 23: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, is continuously leading the vote count.  As of Monday afternoon, Shah has garnered 43,757 votes while his nearest contender of Nepali Congress, Srijana Singh has secured 25,680 votes. Likewise, Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML  is in third position with 24,578 votes. Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of UML garnered 44,705 votes maintaining a lead while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) has collected 15,570 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 23: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has maintained the lead in the vote count since day one despite his contenders being backed by the ruling alliance and the main opposition party. Srijana Singh, a mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress, is backed by the ruling alliance including CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha Party. Keshav Sthapit is a mayoral candidate representing the main opposition party, the CPN-UML. However, Balen Shah seems unstoppable in the race for the post of mayor of KMC’s mayor.

KATHMANDU, May 22: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, is continuously leading the vote count.  As of 8:30 AM this morning, Shah has garnered 37,944 votes while his nearest contender of Nepali Congress, Srijana Singh has secured 21,224 votes. Likewise, Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML  is in third position with 20,704 votes. KATHMANDU, May 20: At the time when the Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, has been leading the vote count, Srijana Singh, mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress has over taken Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML for the second position. As per the latest data revealed by the Election Commission, Balen Shah has collected 32,978 votes maintaining his lead. His nearest contender, Srijana Singh has garnered 17,702 votes followed by Keshav Sthapit with 17,678 votes. Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of UML garnered 31,111 votes maintaining a lead of 21,000 votes. Dangol is leading the race for deputy mayor with 32,615 votes while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) has collected 11,273 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 20: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, is currently leading the vote count with more than 30,000 votes as of early Saturday morning.  As per the latest data revealed by the Election Commission, Shah has secured 31,145 votes. His nearest contender Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML garnered 16,918 votes followed by Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress with 16,562 votes.  Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of UML garnered 31,111 votes followed by Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) with 10,673 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 20: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, is currently leading the vote count. As per the latest data revealed by the Election Commission, Shah has secured 27,134 votes which is 12,571 votes more than his nearest contender. Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is in second position with 14,563 votes followed by Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress with 14,074 votes.  Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of UML garnered 26,852 votes followed by Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) with 9,316 votes.

NC mayoral candidate for KMC shocked with polls results acquired so far

KATHMANDU, May 19: Srijana Singh, mayoral candidate for the post of mayor of Nepali Congress backed by the ruling alliance, maintained that she is shocked with the results of the election acquired so far. “We are shocked with the results acquired so far but the vote count is yet to be completed. So, I am optimistic about winning,” Singh said. “So far only 60,000 votes have been counted and Nepali Congress is winning, getting more votes than other candidates in some places,” Singh added.

KMC Mayor Race: Balen Shah ahead of Sthapit by 11,073 votes

KATHMANDU, May 19: Balen Shah, an independent mayoral candidate, has secured 22,842 votes as of 12:35 PM, Thursday which is 11,073 votes more than his nearest contender. Keshav Sthapit, mayoral candidate of CPN-UML, has so far garnered 11,769 votes followed by Srijana Singh, mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress backed by the ruling alliance with 10,986 votes. As of 12:35 PM, today, as many as 58,850 votes have been counted. Vote count of ward 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 has been completed and the vote count of ward 6, 7, 28, 29, 30 , 31 and 32 is currently underway.
