Supreme Court stays JSP-Nepal lawmakers' expulsion from Lumbini Provincial Assembly
The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the expulsion of four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly - Bijay Bahadur Yadav, Santosh Kumar Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi, and Kalpana Pandey from the Provincial Assembly.
The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order on the petition filed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli demanding that the party’s decision to expel 14 lawmakers of the House of Representatives and two of Lumbini Provincial Assembly be considered valid.
Four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly — Bijay Bahadur Yadav, Santosh Kumar Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi, and Kalpana Pandey — who were expelled by the party’s executive committee last week filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging their expulsion, but the apex court refused to entertain their petition.
Four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly who were expelled by the party’s executive committee on Wednesday have decided to move the Supreme Court against the decision.
