Supreme Court issues interlocutory interim order not to implement the decision against four Lumbini Provincial Assembly lawmakers
Janata Samajbadi Party had expelled them after they joined the provincial government despite the party’s directive to vote for a no-confidence motion. The Shankar Pokhrel government now has a majority in the assembly.
The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order on the petition filed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli demanding that the party’s decision to expel 14 lawmakers of the House of Representatives and two of Lumbini Provincial Assembly be considered valid.
Four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly — Bijay Bahadur Yadav, Santosh Kumar Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi, and Kalpana Pandey — who were expelled by the party’s executive committee last week filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging their expulsion, but the apex court refused to entertain their petition.
Four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly who were expelled by the party’s executive committee on Wednesday have decided to move the Supreme Court against the decision.
