SINDHUPALCHOWK, July 23: The landslide and flood triggered by incessant rainfall has damaged roads in different parts of Melamchi and Helambu in Sindhupalchowk district.
The incessant rainfall has started damaging Melamchi and Helambu areas in the Sindhupalchock district. Melamchi-Helambu and Melamchi-Panchpokhari road sections have been obstructed due to floods occurred on Friday night.
SINDHUPALCHWOK, SEPTEMBER: The Nepali Congress, Constituency No. 2 Disaster Management Committee has distributed cash support to flood survivors in Melamchi and Helambu municipalities. A total of Rs. 750,000 was distributed to the flood survivors of Melamchi Bazaar and Talamarang of Melamchi Municipality and Gyalthum Bazaar of Helambu Municipality.
The people whose houses were washed away by the floods in Melamchi and Helambu have been provided cash assistance and whose lands and shops have been washed away will be rehabilitated, said constituency-2 chair Aitman Tamang. According to him, Rs. 4,000 each was distributed to 46 households in Melamchi Bazaar and Rs. 100,000 was handed over to the ward chairperson in Talamarang.
Similarly, a lump sum of Rs. 350,000 was handed over to each ward chairperson for Helambu and Rs. 20,000 was provided to four landslide survivors of Melamchi-5 at the rate of Rs. 5,000 each.
The Nepali Congress, Constituency No 2 Disaster Management Committee has distributed cash support to flood survivors in Melamchi and Helambu municipalities.
The Marin rural municipality in the district has provided financial aid to Melamchi municipality and Helambu rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk. Both the municipalities were severely affected by rain-triggered floods recently.
SINDHUPALCHOWK, June 16: Massive floods and landslides have been reported in Melamchi and Helambu areas in Sindhupalchok.
Incessant rainfall since Tuesday afternoon ravaged the settlement areas lying on the mank of the Melamchi and the Indrawati rivers.
Scores of people are reported to have been missing due to floods and landslides.
Nakote, Timbu, Fatte, Melamchi, Bahune Pati and Dhandkhola bridges were swept away by the surging rivers.
Similarly, scores of houses along the banks of the rivers have been damaged..
