Govt, ASDP and NACCFL sign deal for capacity building of cooperatives in Karnali

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: An agreement has been signed between the government and the Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Federation Ltd (NACCFL) for the capacity building of 100 cooperatives in eight districts of Karnali (Salyan, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dailekh, Kalikot, West Rukum, Surkhet and Mugu).

Karnali CM Shahi lays foundation for first Province Pride Project

SURKHET: Construction of the Surkhet Stadium has been initiated as the first provincial pride project. Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi laid the foundation stone for the stadium on Monday. The Karnali Sports Development Council (KSDC) and the MACGSL Joint Venture Kantipath Kathmandu had signed an agreement in the second week of this month for the construction of the sports structure. Addressing the foundation-laying program, Chief Minister Shahi directed the bodies concerned to ensure that the stadium construction project is completed in time as it is a 'province pride project'. "We have to organize the 10th National Games. We have to get our sports infrastructures ready before that," he reminded. Province minister for economic affairs and planning Bindaman Bista said construction of the province-level stadium is a matter of pride for Surkhet. Province minister for land management, agriculture and cooperatives Chandra Bahadur Shahi viewed that the government's plan of building a province-level stadium will contribute to the multi-dimensional development of the sports sector in the province.  KSDC member-secretary Bishwamitra Sanjyal the stadium would be constructed at an investment of Rs 1.594 billion. It will have a capacity of accommodating 10 thousand audiences. As per the agreement, the construction company has to complete the construction of the stadium within 30 months.  The stadium would have a football pitch as per the FIFA standard, an eight-lane synthetic athletics track and swimming pool as well as other sports facilities in its premises. It would also have a TV live broadcast platform and the Olympic torch stand.
