KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Kamal Thapa, who quit the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) last week, has announced to revive the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal. Issuing a press statement on Sunday, Thapa announced the revival of the RPP Nepal. The party will be declared on February 19, further reads the statement. The party, RPP Nepal, registered in the name of Lakpa Tamang, will now be headed by Kamal Thapa. Thapa quit the RPP on Tuesday and announced the formation of a new party.

Kamal Thapa to revive RPP Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Kamal Thapa, who quit the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) last week, is preparing to revive the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal. “We are preparing to revive RPP Nepal which is already registered in the Election Commission,” a high-level RPP leader told Ratopati. The party, RPP Nepal, registered in the name of Lakpa Tamang, is now to be headed by Kamal Thapa. According to the source, both Thapa and Lakpa have already reached an agreement on it. Thapa quit the RPP on Tuesday and announced the formation of a new party.

Ex-Chair Thapa quits RPP

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Former Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kamal Thapa quit the party on Tuesday. Organizing a press conference at Hetauda, Thapa announced to separate from the RPP. Addressing the conference, Thapa maintained that he had to quit the party because his voice was not being heard in the party. Thapa had been accusing Former King Gyanendra of interfering in the election during the party’s general convention held earlier in Kathmandu. Thapa had also demanded investigation into the case. After the newly elected Chairman Rajendra Lingden refused to conduct an investigation, Thapa made the move to quit the party.

Kamal Thapa to form new party by third week of Feb

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Former Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kamal Thapa who quit the party on Tuesday, is preparing to form a new party by the first week of Falgun (third week of February). According to a source close to Thapa, ‘monarchy’ won’t be the agenda of the new party. “Only ‘the Hindu Nation’ will be the party’s agenda.” Thapa has already consulted with the Election Commission regarding the formation of a new party. Leaders close to Thapa are soon to quit the RPP and join Thapa except Vice Chair Buddhiman Tamang and General Secretary Bhuwan Phatak. It has been learned that Thapa has also requested former Chairman of the party, Pashupati Shumsher Rana to join him. Rana, on his part, refused Thapa’s request, according to a leader close to Thapa.
