KATHMANDU, Feb 22: In a bid to materialize its effort to sell domestically produced electricity to third countries, Nepal is finalizing a deal with Bangladesh.
Kathmandu, November 15 – Following the commencement of electricity exports from Nepal to Bangladesh, India has welcomed the development. On November 15, the inauguration of the export of 40 megawatts of electricity from Nepal to Bangladesh took place.
The inauguration was conducted virtually by the energy ministers of the three countries. As of the inauguration, 40 megawatts of electricity will be exported from Nepal to Bangladesh until midnight tonight.

The negotiations between Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for electricity trade between the two countries have progressed positively. The two sides have agreed to sign power sales agreements between the two countries as soon as possible in order to export electricity to Bangladesh from the coming rainy season, according to the NEA.
