Three members of same family kill self

JHAPA, August 23: Three members of the same family at Ramailo Tole at Kankai Municipality-1 in Jhapa district have been found dead in their house. Those suspected to kill themselves were 40-year-old Rabin Bishwakarma, his spouse 29-year-old Muna Bishwakarma and their 8-month-old daughter Rubina Bishwakarma, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Jhapa. Spokesperson at the DPO, Jhapa, Rakesh Thapa shared that they were found hanging in their own house today morning. Muna had carried her daughter in her bust and was found hanging by a shawl, spokesperson Thapa added. Deceased Rabin was foreign employment aspirant and had tested positive for COVID-19. He had returned home from Kathmandu after being tested positive for the Coronavirus infection, the locals said.  Rabin was working as an agent for a manpower company, according to the locals. The reason behind the suicide has not been ascertained yet, police said, adding that they were probing the matter.

5 policemen killed after gunmen attack Nigerian police station

LAGOS, April 27: At least five policemen were killed after gunmen attacked a police station in southern Nigeria's Imo state on Monday, local police said.   A gun battle erupted after unidentified attackers broke into the police station and freed some inmates. "Five officers have been killed, while one is yet to be accounted for," said Orlando Ikeokwu, an Imo police spokesperson, in a statement.   Earlier this month, the state saw a major attack on security formations. On April 5, armed men attacked the headquarters of the Imo state police command and a correctional facility in Owerri, capital city of the state, and freed over 1,800 inmates.
