SC orders govt not to extract, export construction materials as per its budgetary plan

KATHMANDU, April 20: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday issued an order not to implement the government’s budgetary plan to extract stones, sands and pebbles from Chure region and export to India. The hearing conducted by the Constitutional Bench took the decision to this effect. Earlier, during the budget announcement, the then Finance Minister Vishnu Poudel had maintained that the construction materials from the Chure region will be extracted and exported to India.
