KATHMANDU, May 4: The CPN (Maoist Center) on Tuesday decided to withdraw its support extended earlier to the KP Oli-led government.
A Standing Committee meeting of the party held on Tuesday took a decision to this effect, according to a Standing Committee member.
The party had earlier assigned the party’s Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to take necessary decisions on the withdrawal of the support to the government. However, the party was unable to withdraw its support after discussions with the Nepali Congress and the Janata Samajwadi Party failed to form a new equation.
As Prime Minister KP Oli decided to take a vote of confidence on May 10, the party held a meeting and formally decided to withdraw its support.
