CHITWAN: The main opposition CPN-UML is holding a closed-door session as a part of its Tenth General Convention from Saturday. The closed-door session, which is to be held at Seven Star Hotel in Sauraha, will elect the new leadership for the party for the next five years.
The inaugural session will be addressed by Chairman Oli and foreign guests. Foreign dignitaries from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have arrived in Chitwan to join the UML general convention.
The national jamboree was officially inaugurated amidst a special function on the bank of the Narayani River on Friday afternoon.

An emergency meeting of the CPN (UML) 10th general convention organising committee kicked at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar.
Though the meeting was called for 10:00 am today, it started after two hours of the schedule, said party central member Ishwori Rijal. Committee members available at the moment are attending the meeting which is expected to discuss party's contemporary issues.
The previous meeting held on April 23 made work allocations of the 265-member organising committee. Prior to this meeting, the CPN (UML) top leaders had sit for the discussions.
