KATHMANDU, Sept 15: A team of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has excavated the compound of Jai Nepal Cinema Hall and found the initial course of the Tukucha River.

Land Commission directs not to demolish buildings in Bagmati corridor

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: The Land Commission has directed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) not to relocate the landless squatters living in Bagmati corridor. The KMC had begun taking action demolishing houses and buildings at Thapathali, Bagmati corridor – built encroaching the Bagmati River. Soon after the government’s move, the landless squatters took to the street and obstructed the KMC’s action. As many as 18 Metropolitan Police personnel were injured in the clash between landless squatters and the government.

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) took action to demolish houses and buildings at Thapathali, Bagmati corridor – built encroaching the Bagmati River – on Monday. Soon after the government’s move, the landless squatters took to the street and obstructed the KMC’s action. As many as 18 Metropolitan Police personnel were injured in the clash between landless squatters and the government. The people living in the area staged a protest on Tuesday morning as well.
