KP Oli is still conspiring to break the ruling alliance: CPN (US) Chair Nepal

KATHMANDU, March 9: Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal maintained that the Chairman of CPN-UML is still conspiring to break the ruling alliance. Addressing the central committee meeting of the party on Wednesday, Chair Nepal said that Oli has failed in taking action against the 14 lawmakers earlier expelled by UML negotiating the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal compact with Nepali Congress.   Besides, Nepal also stated that Oli possesses a false belief that the UML is still powerful and will be proven wrong in the next election. After the CPN-UML expelled 14 lawmakers from the party, the latter formed the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Defeating Bhim Rawal, KP Oli elected UML Chairman for second stint

CHITWAN: KP Oli has been re-elected as the chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML defeating his rival Bhim Rawal by a huge margin of votes.  As many as 2,096 delegates cast their votes on the electronic voting machines earlier on Tuesday morning.  The party’s central election committee, however, is yet to officially announce the results.  With this, Oli will lead the party as the chairman for a second consecutive term. Earlier, he was elected the party chair in 2017 beating Madhav Kumar Nepal. Nepal, however, recently left the party and formed CPN (Unified Socialist).

UML holds legacy of NCP: KP Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the party holds the legacy of the erstwhile Nepal Communist Party (NCP).  Presenting his political document in the ongoing statute congress of the party on Friday, Chairman Oli said that the UML is the continuation of the NCP. “This is a unified party and this is the first statute congress of the unified party.”  On occasion, the unification could not succeed due to some persons in the party. According to him, they were forced to return to the UML as the court revived through its verdict. “Though the NCP was split, the UML holds its legacy,” he added.  It is to be noted that the NCP, which was formed after the merger between UML and CPN (Maoist Center) in 2018, was invalidated by the Supreme Court’s order on February 23, earlier this year.  The main opposition is holding its first Statute Convention starting Friday.

KP Oli and Madhav Nepal holding ‘decisive talks’

KATHMANDU, May 13:  Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are holding ‘decisive talks’.  Oli reached the house of Rameshwar Thapa, a businessman in Budhanilkantha, Chapali Heights.  Nepal reached a little later where Oil was waiting for him. It is said that Oli and Nepal will hold decisive talks at a time the lawmakers close to the Nepal faction are preparing to resign en masse as Prime Minister Oli is not ready to resurrect the party to May 16, 2018.
