CHITWAN: KP Oli has been re-elected as the chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML defeating his rival Bhim Rawal by a huge margin of votes.
As many as 2,096 delegates cast their votes on the electronic voting machines earlier on Tuesday morning.
The party’s central election committee, however, is yet to officially announce the results.
With this, Oli will lead the party as the chairman for a second consecutive term. Earlier, he was elected the party chair in 2017 beating Madhav Kumar Nepal. Nepal, however, recently left the party and formed CPN (Unified Socialist).
