Students urged not to go schools in 14 COVID-19 affected districts  affected

KATHMANDU, April 15: The government on Thursday urged the students not to go to schools of 14 districts across the country. Classifying the 14 districts including those three in the Kathmandu Valley, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) urged the people to abstain from going to the places where large crowds are formed in view of the rapid rate of COVID-19 infection of late. A secretary level meeting held at the ministry on Thursday itself concluded that the districts including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Banke, Parsa, Kailali, Morang, Dang, Surkhet, Bara and Banglung have been extremely affected by the second wave of the viral disease which had first been reported in the country in January last year. Issuing a public statement earlier today, the Health Emergency Operation Center under the Health Ministry urged the people not to send their children to schools in those 14 districts. The ministry, however, issued any directive to shut the educational institutions. Similarly, the people are also asked not to visit restaurants and clubs after 7 PM. The ministry also suggests avoiding games and sports activities, gym clubs, temples and fairs, meetings and public gatherings, film halls and theaters, shopping malls, and swimming clubs amid the terrifying rate of COVID-19 infections in the past few days.
