CPN-UML MP Koiri is absconding after murder, Nepal Police tells Speaker in writing
KATHMANDU, May 1: Nepal Police has sent information to the Parliament Secretariat informing the latter that CPN-UML law maker Lakshmi Mahato Koiri has been absconding.
Nepal Police have raided the house of CPN (UML) secretary, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi. A special team of Nepal Police raided the house of Rayamajhi on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the search continuing throughout Thursday, the Nepal Police says it is yet to nab CPN-UML secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi.

KATHMANDU, July 13: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has expressed its objections in a meeting of the House of Representatives today, citing various arms being purchased for Nepal Police in a haste without calling a global tender.
KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Four ordinances have been endorsed by a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) amid obstruction and sloganeering by the CPN-UML lawmakers.
The House meeting passed three ordinances tabled in Wednesday’s meeting. The ordinances include the Nepal Police and Nepal Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance -2021, the Ordinance Regulating Acid and Harmful Chemical Substances-2021 and Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance-2021 in the HoR meeting, for endorsement.
Similarly, the Railway Ordinance-2021, tabled by Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Renu Kumari Yadav was also endorsed by the House.
The main opposition, UML, however, has been obstructing the House meetings since September 8. Protesting the inaction of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota to sack its 14 lawmakers, the main opposition has continued obstruction. Amid obstruction, the summer session was prorogued on October 28.
The next meeting of the lower House has been scheduled for January 2, next year.
