MCC crucial for prosperity, development: Home Minister
Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand Monday said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has been endorsed from the House of Representatives for the prosperity and development of the country.
KATHMANDU, May 20: A meeting was held between Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Vice President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Jonathan Brooks on Saturday.
Home Minister Khand said it while inaugurating the 12th Kapilvastu Festival organized at Jitpur of Banganga Municipality. He made it clear that MCC compact has the electricity and roadway projects.
Bal Krishna Khand has asked the NC cadres to make people clear about the US government's grant assistance to MCC since many rumours have been spread on MCC despite it being in the national interest.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The ruling party, Nepali Congress (NC), is scheduled to hold its parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting will be held at 9 AM on Tuesday in the Lhoste Hall of the Federal Parliament Building at New Baneshwar.
According to Bal Kishna Khand, the Home Minister and chief whip of NC’s parliamentary party, the meeting will discuss the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) and the impeachment motion registered against the Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

KATHMANDU: Student organization close to the CPN (Unified Socialist), a party in the ruling alliance, burned the effigy of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand in the capital on Monday afternoon.
A group of students led by Sudesh Parajuli, Chairman of student wing close to the CPN (US), burned the effigy of Home Minister Khand in Min Bhawan as a symbolic protest against the ‘warning’ issued by the ministry on Sunday.
Releasing a press statement on Sunday, the ministry warned of stern action against those burning the effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The students also protested against the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) during the event.
