Student wing close to ruling alliance burns Home Minister’s effigy

KATHMANDU: Student organization close to the CPN (Unified Socialist), a party in the ruling alliance, burned the effigy of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand in the capital on Monday afternoon.  A group of students led by Sudesh Parajuli, Chairman of student wing close to the CPN (US), burned the effigy of Home Minister Khand in Min Bhawan as a symbolic protest against the ‘warning’ issued by the ministry on Sunday.  Releasing a press statement on Sunday, the ministry warned of stern action against those burning the effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The students also protested against the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) during the event.
