President Bhandari, VP Pun, PM Deuba extend greetings on Bakra-Eid

KATHMANDU, July 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that a strong unity in social diversity would contribute to further consolidating national sentiments. In a message on the occasion of one of the greatest festivals of the Muslims-Bakra-Eid on Wednesday President Bhandari extended best wishes to all the Nepalis Muslims at home or abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity and good health on the occasion.   Bhandari asserted that festivals as such would preserve and promote the unique cultures and traditions of all the ethnic communities and people of all faiths. The President has urged all the Muslims to observe the festival with precaution against COVID-19 since, she said, there was still risk of Coronavirus infection. She also wished that may this festival encourage one and all to help foster mutual goodwill, tolerance, and communal amity as well as help build a civilized, well-cultured and progressive society.  In a similar message, Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun has extended best wishes to all Nepali Muslims on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Adha. In his message, Vice-president Pun has said that the festival of Eid-Ul-Adha is observed as a celebration of fraternity and family reunion and expressed the confidence that it would help promote national solidarity, social goodwill and mutual friendship in the country. He has also cautioned all to take note of the health protocol while observing the festival, as the threat of COVID-19 pandemic continues to exist. Similarly, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended his best wishes to all the Nepalis Muslims on the occasion of Bakar-Eid (also known as Eid-ul-Adha) that falls on Wednesday.  Urging all the Muslim communities to adhere to health safety protocols against COVID-19 while observing the festival, PM Deuba extended his greetings to all the Nepalis Muslims at home and abroad.  Stating that festivals like Bakar-Eid would give the message of patience, tolerance, world peace and fraternity, Deuba, also the President of Nepali Congress, wished for the progress and prosperity of the Nepalis Muslims communities. In the light of growing risk of COVID-19, the PM has appealed to all the Muslims to celebrate the festival observing precaution against Coronavirus infection.  He also said that may this festival contribute to further enabling the environment of unity and cooperation in our country like ours that boats of diversity in culture, tradition, festivities, ethnicity and folk dresses and languages.

President Bhandari summoned the Federal Parliament meetings on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.  According to the Office of the President, the Federal Parliament meetings of the House of Representatives and National Assembly are called at 4:00 pm on September 8 at the International Conference Hall, New Baneshwor. President Bhandari undergoes regular health checkup

KATHMANDU, July 27: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has visited Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a regular health checkup.  President Bhandari's communications expert Tika Dhakal said that President Bhandari went to Teaching hospital this morning and underwent a regular health examination.  Dhakal shared, "President Bhandari visited the hospital as part of routine health checkup." President Bhandari stayed at the hospital for around 40 minutes during the medical checkup.
