KATHMANDU, September 5: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned meetings of the Federal Parliament on September 8.
President Bhandari summoned the Federal Parliament meetings on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
According to the Office of the President, the Federal Parliament meetings of the House of Representatives and National Assembly are called at 4:00 pm on September 8 at the International Conference Hall, New Baneshwor.
The meeting is expected to discuss the Millennium Corporate Challenge of America, Budget and Ordinances.
KATHMANDU, July 27: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has visited Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a regular health checkup.
President Bhandari's communications expert Tika Dhakal said that President Bhandari went to Teaching hospital this morning and underwent a regular health examination.
Dhakal shared, "President Bhandari visited the hospital as part of routine health checkup." President Bhandari stayed at the hospital for around 40 minutes during the medical checkup.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has prorogued the current winter session of the House of Representatives from 1 pm today. President Bhandari prorogued the HoR winter session in line with Article 93 (2) of the constitution on the recommendation of the meeting of the Council of Ministers today morning.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat has received a letter from the Office of the President in this regard, it has been learnt. Some important bills registered in the restored HoR failed to proceed due to political disputes. The session began on March 7.
Meanwhile, the government is scheduled to make public decisions taken by the Cabinet meeting today itself.
