Banke that was a hotspot of the coronavirus infection around two months ago did not record any Covid-19 death in the past five days, giving health workers there an assurance that the crisis has come into control there.
Different figures on Covid-19 death toll, which have puzzled many, raise concerns if there are more virus fatalities than what the government is reporting.
BAGLUNG, May 12: Two more Covid-19 deaths have been reported in Baglung district taking the death toll from the infection to 17. The deceased--a 66-year-old woman of Dhorpatan Municipality-4 and a 77-year-old man of Baglung Muinicipality-4, who died at Dhawalagiri Hospital and in home isolation respectively. The woman was tested positive for the virus after her death.
CHITWAN, May 5: Three more Covid-19 patients have died in Chitwan district in the past 24 hours. They died at various hospitals in the district.
A 45-year-old man of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-25 died at Bharatpur Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on May 2 for pneumonia and was tested positive for the virus on May 3, said the hospital.
Likewise, a 42-year-old man of Butwal Sub Metropolitan City-9 died at Chitwan Medical College. He was admitted to the hospital on May 4 for respiratory problems. He was tested positive for the infection the same day.
Another deceased is a 42-year-old man from Bhumikasthan-1 in Argakhanchi district, who died at Chitwan Medical College. He was admitted to the hospital on May 4 after complaining of respiratory problems. He was found infected with the virus on May 3.
