Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has upheld the long-term electricity trade agreement between Nepal and India, clarifying that there will be no external monopoly in the electricity trade agreement. A long-term electricity trade agreement was signed between Nepal and India for 25 years on January 4, 2024. In response to a writ filed by former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Suryanath Upadhyay, against the agreement, the court has ruled that parliamentary approval is not required for the electricity trade agreement.The court has defined the agreement as a 'commercial and contractual' document between the two countries....
Kathmandu. Two female employees of the Armed Police Force have climbed Mount Everest. Assistant Havildar Anita Karki and Assistant Inspector Nimdeki Sherpa reached the summit of Everest on Sunday morning. DSP Shailendra Thapa, spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, told Ratopati that Karki climbed Everest at 10:20 AM and Sherpa at 11:55 AM. Those arrested are Rahul Singh, 20, residing in Birgunj Metropolitan City-32, and Nandan Gupta, 19, from Simra Jitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-7, Bara. 8 grams 40 milligrams of brown heroin were recovered from the accused arrested on Jestha 2 from the Katagenwa road section of Birgunj-31, said DSP Haribahadur Basnet of the District Police Office, Parsa, told Ratopati.The accused were coming from Bhediyahi towards Milanchowk on a Splendor motorcycle numbered Na.39 Pa 2532.
