Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha has said that he as a minister of state would not take any state facilities except for personal security officers.
KATHMANDU, August 2: Minister of State for Health and Population, Umesh Shrestha has announced that he would not take any government facilities.
Addressing a press conference organized at the ministry on Monday afternoon, Shrestha said that he would not receive any state facilities except for security.
Unveiling his 100-day work plans, he said that he would not receive salary and other benefits, use government vehicles and residence in his capacity as the minister of state.
He also maintained that he would be involved in any kind of business related activities throughout his tenure.
KATHMANDU, July 25: At a time when the ruling alliance of five parties -- Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), JSP’s Upendra Yadav faction, CPN-UML’s Madhav Nepal faction and RJM --- is finding it hard to finalize the Cabinet members for the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government, a minister of state has been added to the Cabinet.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Umesh Shrestha as the Minister of Health and Population of State.
President Bhandari, on Sunday, appointed Shrestha as the minister of state as per Article 76 (9) of the constitution on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
With this, the Deuba-led Cabinet comprises six members including PM Deuba, four ministers and a minister of state.
