Dhankuta, Nov 24: The CPN-UML has made a clean sweep in Dhankuta winning the one and only seat of the House of Representatives from the constituency and both seats of Provincial Assembly.
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has elected delegates for the party’s upcoming 10th National General Convention, in a total of 58 districts.
Yogesh Bhattarai, Chief of the party’s publicity department said that election for the delegates in five districts is underway as of Sunday afternoon. He added that most districts picked convention delegates unanimously.
The main opposition party is holding its general convection from November 26 to 28 in Chitwan.
As many as 1,999 delegates are to be elected by 800,000 party members.
Below is the list of the districts that completed the election for delegates as of Sunday afternoon:
Province 1:
Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Morang, Dhankuta, Solukhmbu, Udayapur, Khotang and Bhojpur
Bagmati Province:
Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Sindhupalchowk, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Makwanpur
Valley Special Committee :
Special district committees related to professional, student, laborer and entrepreneurs
Gandaki Province:
Gorkha, Lamjung, Nawalpur, Tanahu, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat, Myagdi, Baglung, Mustang and Mangang
Lumbini Province:
Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Pyuthan, Rukum, Rolpa, Banke and Bardiya
Karnali Province:
Humla, Dolpa, Mugu, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Rukum (West), Salyan and Surkhet
Sudur Paschim Province
Darchula, Baitadi, Bajhang and Dadeldhura
DHANKUTA, July 2: Dhankuta district has turned into a red fort for the CPN-UML as the party has won the elections in all the seven local units of the district. UML candidates won the elections for the posts of both mayor and deputy mayor of Dhankuta Municipality along with 42 ward chairpersons. With this victory, UML has an overwhelming majority in the district coordination committee as well.
