FNCCI seeks immediate solution to power supply hitches

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has demanded for immediate solution to the problem of power supply, citing that heavy load shedding in the industrial sector had pushed the industries in crisis in recent days. Hundreds of industries along the country's major industrial corridors have been affected by heavy load shedding of 12 to 16 hours daily load shedding without any prior notice.

High level body sought to resolve power supply issue

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has demanded formation of a high-level commission to resolve the arrears disputes of trunk and dedicated lines. Issuing a press statement regarding a long-standing dispute related to the dedicated and trunk lines arrears on Monday, the FNCCI demanded a powerful commission to resolve the dispute between the Authority and the industrialists.

Power supply problem will be over soon: Bhusal

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal Monday held a discussion with the industrialists about the power supply problem in some big industries. During the meeting at the Ministry, she sought reasons for power outage problem in industrial areas with the officials of Nepal Electricity Authority and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Minister Bhusal said that the problem in power supply was temporary and it would be solved by Tuesday.

Private sector urges NEA to solve power problem

The private sector’s umbrella organisations have asked the concerned authorities to solve the problem seen in power supply. Issuing a joint statement, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Friday, they have requested the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to make public the schedule of power cuts in the industries if supplying uninterrupted electricity to the industries is not possible. The confusion among the industrialists has been growing since the supply of electricity in the industrial areas has remained irregular.
