Air fare increases after fuel price hike

The air service companies have increased airfare with the increase in fuel price. The umbrella organization of air service providers issued a press release on Wednesday and informed that the air fare has been increased up to Rs 440 in a one-way flight.  Now, the passengers should pay Rs 440 more in the longest route while those flying in the shortest route should pay Rs 95 more to the usual fare. The longest air route in the country is from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi while Kathmandu to Simara is the shortest one.  Nepal Oil Corporation had increased the price of air fuel by 11.6 percent (Rs 10 per litre). The increase in airfare was in line with the NOC decision on price hike, said the Association of Aviation Service Company. The Association further said the decision on price hike was taken after taking permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. Now, the air fuel price has reached Rs 96 per litre – Rs 10 up from the earlier price.
