Accused in Sankhuwasabha mass murder remanded

KIMATHANKA, October 5: Four accused in the mass killing at Madi Municipality -1 in Sankhuwasabha district have been ordered to be remanded for further investigation into the case. The District Court, Sankhuwasabha information officer Dilli Prasai said Khadga Bahadur Karki, Lok Bahadur Karki, Rana Bahadur Karki and Hasta Bahadur Karki were remanded for further investigation into the case. Likewise, a 17-year-old Naresh Karki has been ordered to be sent to Child Correction Home, Biratnagar for being a minor. Tej Bahadur Karki, 52, his mother Parbati Karki, 84, spouse Kamala Karki, 52, daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 32, grandson Dipen Karki, 8, and granddaughter Goma Karki, 5, of Umling Khola, Madi-1 were killed on September 6.

The police have claimed that Khadka Bahadur Karki, Lok Bahadur’s uncle, was the mastermind behind the murder. KATHMANDU, September 20: The police have made public four more accused of Sankhuwasabha murder case on Monday. The police have claimed that they  have arrested the mastermind of the murder. The police had arrested Lok Bahadur Karki (who was first to confess that he killed Tej Bahadur Karki and his five family members) on September 11.   After investigation, the police have arrested four other people who were found to be involved in gruesome murder of Tej Bahadur Karki and his five family members.  Arrested people have been identified as Khadka Bahadur Karki, 47, his son Hasta Bahadur Karki, 25, Rana Bahadur Karki, 49 and Naresh Karki, 17. It has been learnt that Lok Bahadur Karki and these four people planned and killed Tej Bahadur and his family members, SP Bhim Dahal, investigation officer, told Ratopati. The police have claimed that Khadka Bahadur Karki, Lok Bahadur’s uncle, is the mastermind behind the murder. It has been learnt that they pre-planned the murder at Lok Bahadur’s house the previous evening.
