The budget session is commencing today after President Ramchandra Paudel, in accordance with the Article 93 (1) of the Nepal Constitution, summoned the joint session of the federal parliament on May 2 on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

KATHMANDU, June 16: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba escaped a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Thursday to attend an event of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
Escaping the meeting being held for deliberation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, PM Deuba attended the event at the Radisson Hotel.
PM Deuba was scheduled to address the HoR meeting on Policies, Program and Budget of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. However, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand had addressed the HoR meeting on the behalf of PM Deuba.
PM Deuba was also sought in the meeting by lawmaker of CPN-UML, Bhim Rawal and lawmaker of Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party, Prem Suwal.
KATHMANDU, September 5: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned meetings of the Federal Parliament on September 8.
President Bhandari summoned the Federal Parliament meetings on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
According to the Office of the President, the Federal Parliament meetings of the House of Representatives and National Assembly are called at 4:00 pm on September 8 at the International Conference Hall, New Baneshwor.
The meeting is expected to discuss the Millennium Corporate Challenge of America, Budget and Ordinances.
MORANG, June 3: Today’s meeting of Council of Ministers of Province 1 has decided to recommend for summoning the budget session of the Province Assembly on June 7.
