President Bhandari summons Federal Parliament meetings

KATHMANDU, September 5: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned meetings of the Federal Parliament on September 8. President Bhandari summoned the Federal Parliament meetings on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.  According to the Office of the President, the Federal Parliament meetings of the House of Representatives and National Assembly are called at 4:00 pm on September 8 at the International Conference Hall, New Baneshwor. The meeting is expected to discuss the Millennium Corporate Challenge of America, Budget and Ordinances.

Eighth session of of National Assembly to kick off from today

KATHMANDU, July 1: Eighth session of the National Assembly (NA) is scheduled to kick off from Thursday.  President Bidya Devi Bhandari, June 24, called the fresh session of the National Assembly for 4PM at the New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament Building . President Bhandari announced the Summer Session of the 59-member upper house of parliament at the recommendation of the Council of Ministers as per  Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal. According to Dr Rojnath Pandey, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament, all the necessary preparation for Thursday’s meeting have been completed.

President Bhandari prorogues HoR current winter session

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has prorogued the current winter session of the House of Representatives from 1 pm today. President Bhandari prorogued the HoR winter session in line with Article 93 (2) of the constitution on the recommendation of the meeting of the Council of Ministers today morning. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has received a letter from the Office of the President in this regard, it has been learnt. Some important bills registered in the restored HoR failed to proceed due to political disputes. The session began on March 7.  Meanwhile, the government is scheduled to make public decisions taken by the Cabinet meeting today itself.
