74 arrested from Boudha in charge of online gambling

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Police have arrested 74 people from Boudha in charge of gambling online. According to Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, 74 people have been arrested from a restaurant in Boudha on Sunday evening. They were found playing Bingo ( a betting game). Police had received information that a large number of people were being gathered at a restaurant owned by Subhas Ghising, 30, currently residing at Baneshwar, for online gambling. Acting on the tip-off, the police raided the restaurant and arrested as many as 74 individuals. The police have also seized mobile phones, money and coupons used for Bingo games. Of the arrested, eight are females and 66 are males.

Three cheats arrested

KATHMANDU, July 23: Police here have arrested three persons on the charge of cheating Rs 749 thousand 500. The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested them on the charge of swindling different persons promising to send them to USA.  The arrested were 24-year-old Binod Bhusal of Kapilvastu, 31-year-old Pukar Gurung and 30-year-old Prakash Gurung of Kaski.  They have cheated people in the name of sending them to USA on working visa.   According to bureau spokesperson SP Shyam Kumar Mahato, the victims were contacted through Bhusal by Divya Rana, currently living in the USA. It is stated that Bhusal had managed the process to send them to USA for working in agriculture farm of Rana.  Bhusal was found preparing fake documents of the US embassy. It may be noted that Bhusal was arrested on the charge of taking Rs 2.5 million in the release of a person jailed in USA.
