Kathmandu. Due to the Medical Education Act, 2075 BS defining 'residential doctors' only as 'students' and not 'trainees', excessive workload has been imposed on them. Taking advantage of this legal flaw, medical colleges, while avoiding responsibilities and facilities by calling them 'students', exploit them as permanent staff, assigning them up to 135 hours a week.
