Aquatic migratory birds increase in CNP

Chitwan, Jan 16: The population of winter aquatic migratory birds in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and its adjoining areas has seen increase.During the census conducted from January 8 to 10, a total of 62 species were recorded, compared to 55 species last year. This year, seven additional species were identified, including the Tilahari (ibisbill) and several species of eagles.However, the overall number of migratory birds has declined compared to the previous year. Last year, their population stood at 8,086, whereas this year it has dropped to 5,848. Notably, the population of Ruddy Shelducks has decreased significantly, from 4,107 last year...
