Microfinance Debtors Return Home After Agreement with Government

Kathmandu. Microfinance debtors who were staging a protest outside the office of the Human Rights Commission in Pulchok, Lalitpur, returned to their homes today after reaching an agreement with the Government of Nepal. The protest program was postponed after a 14-point agreement was reached between the Government of Nepal and the representatives of the debtors yesterday, Bhadra 6.After the agreement, the government arranged for Sajha Yatayat buses from 8:50 AM today and sent them towards their destinations.The Prime Minister's Office stated that 323 debtors were bid farewell through 8 buses in the presence of officials from various government bodies.
