Kathmandu. Following a rockslide in Nepal, a severe mudslide with debris has caused extensive damage at the Kerung (Jirong) border crossing in China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The mudslide, which occurred on August 27, resulted in 16 deaths and 546 people missing on the Chinese side of the Kerung port. Rescue efforts, working around the clock, managed to reopen National Highway G216 on Wednesday morning, allowing large vehicles and heavy equipment to reach the main disaster area.
