Kathmandu. A fugitive from Jhapa, accused of rape and electronic transaction offenses, has been arrested in Oman based on an Interpol Red Notice. Bimal Rajbanshi, a permanent resident of Birtamod Municipality-3, Jhapa, has been arrested and brought to Nepal. The Interpol branch under the Crime Investigation Department of the Nepal Police Headquarters had requested to initiate international search and arrest procedures against him. Based on that request, the Interpol General Secretariat issued a Red Notice against him on May 13, 2026.
