Rescue Operations Underway for 8 Trapped in Chilime Hydropower Tunnel

Kathmandu. Security personnel are working to rescue those trapped in the Chilime Hydropower Project in Rasuwa due to the Bhote Koshi flood. Former Energy Minister Kulman Ghising has also been deployed at the project site for rescue coordination. Rescuers are removing mud and sand accumulated in the main access tunnel to the underground power house. Work is underway to build a road to take heavy equipment to the tunnel.
